Sneakily some of us might hanker after a facelift, but when
you see what can go wrong and how much they may cost, you may want to
reconsider what makeup can do for that effect.
Do your eyebrows add to the years?
The eyebrows sadly become thinner and lighter and when the
fashion is for thicker, darker eyebrows, simply add on over the years! Use a
powder or eyebrow pencil to re-color. The effect is incredible. A spool brush
will give you the best effect and then retouch any area with a pencil that is still
a little scarce. Using an eyebrow pencil that contains emollients and waxes
will help the eyebrows stay in place all day and nourish your eyebrows at the
same time.
Can you do more with your eyelashes?
Lashes dry and lose their curl as we age, so be sure to
nourish your night with a little Vaseline, almonds or olive oil. Go for a lash
elongation mascara in a dark brown or gray shade. Experts also advise investing
in a good quality eyelash curler to put a little of the return on your
eyelashes and help the appearance of eyelids that are less firm than they used
to be.
Are your eyes still shining?
A diet rich in vitamins and a hyaluronic supplement will
help keep your eyes bright and healthy. Take a lubricating eye solution and use
it several times a day, as the older eyes dry easily, especially when flying or
in an air-conditioned environment.
What changes should I make in the eye makeup?
The basic rule is that there are no hard pencils and
powders, only liquids or gels. Use liquid or creamy pencils to avoid dragging
your skin. Smooth out the colors you are wearing and try out dark gray, brown
or blue shades and liners in soft neutral shades that shine without shine and
always apply your eye makeup in an upward motion.
Use a liquid concealer to hide any dark markings and crow's
feet in a tone that tones with its natural color: a beige pink color for
lighter skin and a peachy tone or more ocher if your skin is darker.
Skin
Apart from moisturizing, choosing the right shades of face
make-up and blushers will make a big difference. To add youthful warmth, makeup
artists recommend using a face makeup with a beige base (just an almost
imperceptible dye!), Something that a pink foundation. Juvenile skin has a glow
that older skin loses, so look for a silicone based liquid makeup that gives a
natural sheen.
Choose a cream blush that adds a bit of glow and use it to
highlight the cheekbones that the older faces show as well!
Lips Service
Unlike our skin, the lips do not have oil-producing glands
and so they dry out and need to be hydrated regularly. As they age, the lips
will wrinkle and wrinkle allowing drops of unpleasant lipstick. You could try a
neutral lipstick to seal the edges or use a spot color with a sheen applied on
the top. It's time to leave those plums and dark reds and go for lighter colors
for a more flattering look.
One last tip, use a magnifying mirror and a very good light
and if you use them, put your glasses on for a final check.
