Hollywood came to life in one of the worst possible ways for
passengers flying to Mexico City as a snake dropped from an air baggage
compartment and swung over their heads.
This video, reported on an AeroMexico flight from Torreon to
Mexico City on Sunday, shows a venomous green five-foot viper hanging from the
lockers directly above the terrified passengers.
A man standing next to him seems to have jumped out of his
seat in fear.
Indalecio Medina shared the video on Twitter with the
comment: 'The Viper flying .... A unique experience on flight 231 Aeromexico.
Priority landing.
He later added on social networks: "I had to fuck with
a blanket and obviously gave him some magazines to read for a while.
"The snake came alive and kicking, frightened but not
having paid for its air ticket.
And best of all, the priority when it came to experts in
landing and animal control waiting for the unexpected traveler.
It was reported that the flight had landing priority and the
snake was treated by animal control.
Many people have taken to Twitter to express their commotion
in the video.
One person tweeted the famous line from Samuel L Jackson's
movie, but then added, "My skin crawled."
Another said, "It's worse than the turbulence, the wind
on the side, the rain."
A spokesman for Aeromexico said: "AeroMexico reports
that today, on flight 231 from Torreon to Mexico City, a snake was detected
inside the passenger cabin.
'Due to the presence of the animal and following safety
protocols, the flight was given priority to land in the AICM. Once it landed,
the AICM staff assured the reptile.
'The procedures performed for this flight are currently
being evaluated to determine how the animal entered the cabin and steps have
been taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
'For Aeroméxico, the safety of its passengers and crew is of
the highest priority and always works to meet the highest quality standards.'
In October 2012, staff on a flight from Mexico to Glasgow
found a snake on the plane upon arrival at the Scottish airport.
