Well, according to reports of 2015, Farmer Suicide has been increased as compared to the previous season and it is a very alarming situation that's why Bollywood Stars take steps to donate poor Indian Farmers as a relief.
After releasing Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan was announced to donate his profit of Bajrangi Bhaijaan to poor farmers of India and then Nana Patekar.
Following the footsteps of legendary Bollywood actor Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar too has joined the bandwagon of extending help to the the drought-stricken farmers of Marathwada. Naam Foundation, which has been established by Nana Patekar for this cause now has a new donor - Akshay Kumar. Farmers in the drought-stricken Marathwada region have faced a lot of problems and to make a lot of lives easier, Khiladi Kumar has pledged to donate a sum of Rs. 90 lakh. This 90 Lakhs will help 180 families of farmers who committed suicide because of the acute agrarian crisis. Akshay wasn’t himself present there but his team visited Beed district in Marathwada and his team distributed Rs. 50,000 to each of the 30 widows. The financial help was extended through cheques.
Inspector General of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil who is currently posted in Aurangabad inspected the event. He added, "Akshay had invited me and during the interval, I spoke to him about the drought in Marathwada and the plight of farmers. I showed him a video of how actors Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure were helping farmers. So that's when he expressed his desire to help but he wanted to do it discreetly and silently.”
Thanks to Mr Patekar and Mr Anaspure's efforts that they’ve been able to reach out to over 300 families in Marathwada and Vidarbha. After getting hit by a third drought,in just over 8 months, more than 700 farmers committed suicide in Marathwada. INDIA TIMESloading...
